Weingut PMC Münzenrieder receives the IWC Sweet Winemaker of the Year 2017 award

Tremendous success for the siblings Peter and Christoph Münzenrieder, co-owner of the Weingut PMC Münzenrieder in Burgenland, Austria: at the International Wine Challenge (IWC), the world’s most prestigious wine competition, the Sweet Winemaker of the Year 2017 was awarded to the sibling-duo from Apetlon. At the annual Awards dinner, widely known as the “Oscar of the Wine Trade”, the prolific producers also received a pair of Trophies, three Gold and three Silver medals for their outstanding wines.

On Thursday, 6 July 2017, the 34th International Wine Challenge took place at the London Hilton Hotel. This event, organized by William Reed Business Media, celebrates the world’s best winemakers in various categories ranging from white, sparkling and sweet wines to Sake.

The sibling–duo Peter (Sales & Marketing Manager) and Christoph (Oenologist) entered their high-quality wines to the international wine jury. Each wine was assessed blind and tasted and judged by at least 10 different judges on three separate occasions. The experts agreed on declaring the Weingut PMC the best sweet winemaker in 2017. “With this award we have won the Champions League of Winemakers," cheered the two brothers.
